Why length variance matters
People write unevenly. A short sentence lands. Then a longer one carries the argument, picks up a subordinate clause, and sets up what comes next. Then something short again. Generated and committee-written prose loses that swing: sentence after sentence arrives at the same measured length, and the reader feels it long before they can name it.
The one thing we cannot fix for you
We can delete filler and swap a wordy connector, but we cannot rewrite your sentences into a rhythm without changing what they say. So this is measured and reported, never edited. Read the chart, find the run of identical bars, and break one of those sentences in two.
Frequently asked questions
How is the rhythm scored?
We take the word count of each sentence and compute how much they vary relative to their average. A low spread is reported as flat; a healthy spread as natural. The measure is relative, so a text of long sentences and a text of short ones are judged on the same scale.
How much text do I need?
At least three sentences. Below that there is nothing meaningful to compare and we say so rather than inventing a verdict.
Is a flat rhythm always bad?
No. Legal clauses, specifications and reference material are often deliberately uniform. It is a signal to look at, not a verdict.
